There are endless choices for hotel accommodation in Costa Rica. Main cities like San José, Alajuela, Liberia and Puerto Limón have a good selection of mid-range and luxury hotels. Similarly, outside the national parks, Manuel Antonio and Arenal Volcano in particular, there are many good hotels which take advantage of the beautiful views and offer great access to the parks.
In addition to normal hotels, Costa Rica is particularly well stocked on beach resorts which offer all-inclusive holiday packages, as well as luxury and spa hotels geared towards honeymooners or those in search of a tranquil retreat. Luxury hotels often have packages which include yoga classes or mind and body programs, whilst package deals can often combine food, accommodation and adventure tours or national park trips.
It is worth doing your research as different tour operators offer different deals to the same hotels. Booking via the internet a long time in advance or at the very last minute can also save you pennies.
The majority of Costa Rica's beach resorts are clustered around the Guanacaste end of the Nicoya Peninsula or down the Pacific coast in the Puntarenas region, however, you will find resorts all over Costa Rica.
